6/13/04 - 1:28 PM - The video file for the screnshot listed below is up now. Ship Aproach 6/13/04 - 2:07 AM - OK I spoke too soon about the no screenshot I do have a screenshot that ends up right about where the camera's path ends. OOOOOhhhhh shiny! 6/13/04 - 2:02 AM - Another update here. No screenshot for this one yet because the camera moves alot so it wouldn't really show what the clip did. The clip itself is rendering right now so it should be done in the morning. This si a completely new space scene Dan and I came up with a couple nights ago to fill in some spots in the opening sequence. It's a fun little flyby zoom shot the segways into the probe launch scenes. I will probably change the camera path a few times because as it is it's a little blocky but all in good time. So nothing to post for the moment but probably tomorow. Ofcourse I start my new job tomorow weeeee. 6/09/04 - 3:27 AM - Once again I'm baffled as tow hy I'm awake at this hour but I am. Here's another scene done. Again another oldie but here's the screenshot for it. Only have a few more space scenes left to render, well actually another 10 or 11 but they are all in 3 files. Eitherway we may have a pretty good idea about how the first few minutes are going to go with a week or two. I'm hoping it will be able to go up just so you all can get an idea of pacing. We will not be including the dialogue in the cut because it's all pretty important stuff in the first few minutes. Eitherway here's the new screenshot. Ship flyby with pod launch. 6/07/04 - 3:54 PM - This is the second part to the post on the 4th. This a shot of the probe actually being launched from the ship. This is one of the older scenes but I tweaked the camera angle a bit and may still change a few things on it. Probe launching position launch. 6/04/04 - 2:02 PM - Another update of a former scene. This scene was finalized a while ago but it still needed to be re-rendered in the new resolution so here's Probe Locking into position. 6/03/04 - 10:12 PM - One more update for today. Finalized another scene. Again you've probably seen this one before I only changed very little but here it is Earth Flyby. 6/03/04 - 12:33 PM - Ok first update in what I'm pretty sure will be the final run towards the finish...hopefully. No video for most of these unless they're scenes I haven't rendered before. They are uncompressed and that would take up way too much server space and most people don't want to download a 200mb file for about 3 seconds of video. So for now just screenshots. Alot of these scenes you may have seen a while back but they have either been tweaked, modified, or simply re-rendered at our final resolution. So here's the first Ship Engine Exhaust. 6/02/04 - 4:13 PM - Wanted to take this chance while I ahve a free moment to ask you all to visit, support, and go see this film when it comes out. It's titled "Michael Moore Hates America" now this isn't just a bash Michael Moore flick. It is a Michael Moore "style" documentary, ya know tons of jump cuts and manipulative editing. Anyway it is meant to show that not all Americans are as stupid as Moore contends they are (which he does constantly in his over seas seminars). The film also seeks to find if the "American Dream" is actually possible or not. Anyway check out Michael Moore Hates America. 6/02/04 - 4:06 PM - Well I'm all done with college and moved out and everything. I've just now gotten my computer back up and my desk to a level where I can actually sit at it. Dan (Director/Writer) should be done with the audio in not too long from now so progress should be coming along after it picks back up in the next few weeks. I will be posting a few video scenes and screenshots as time goes on but there will probably not be many more audio updates except for a couple so you can hear the other two actors. There may be a new trailer coming but it's hard to say being that Dan and I will both be working atleast 40 hours a week and I have some online summer courses to attend to but no worries, we should be able to tackle it. -May 20045/19/04 - 11:42 AM - Sorry about the lack of updates. Everything has been a little crazy with trying to finish up school and get ready to move out of my apt. I'll start up work again as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience. April's posts have been moved to the archive section. 5/5/04 - 4:01 AM - Been really busy lately so haven't had much of a chance to put up any updates on the movie that won't give away too much. Now that we are getting into the audio I'm trying to be careful that I don't give away too much. But on one of my other projects I've decided to put up the first 5 chapters of my novel "Deep in Us All" The short synopsis and links to the first five chapters are here as well as the link in the directory to the left. I've apreciated the input on the movie would greatly apreciate the same on the novel. The posts from April will be moved into the archives in a week or two. Contents © 2004 Matthew Hickman |
