08/19/03 - 3:11 PM - Another video clip here. Still continuing on with that probe retrieval scene, so here's a clip from outside the ship hanger. There is no space background or anything but again it's just to give you an idea of how it goes down. Outdoor camera view.

08/15/03 - 3:26 AM - Ok here's the two video clips they should be PC/Mac compatible....I think...Probe retrieval from within the hanger. and View from the hanger door two other things I nearly forgot about. First I have a new painting up in the gallery I finished earlier it's of a bodega Bay sunset I saw a few months ago. The second is a plug for the company I work at with my buddy Ben. We have a new product available it's not exactly geared to the consumer market just yet but it definatley has applications there, so I thought I'd put up our little one page so people can see it. The question most people have aobu the ad is what UAV stands for in the ad it's Un-manned Arial Vehicle (like the prediator drone we have millin about Iraq).Mobile Lightweight RAID.

08/15/03 - 2:27 AM - It's been a bit since the last update but I've been very busy and am not quite sure what to put up. I've been working late so it's tough to find time to work on this. Lets see I made a nifty little computer readout of information that the satelite is going to bring back. That's nothing big but I think it's kinda neat, gave me an excuse to check out NASA's website for odd statistics about Earth and other things that cost billions of dollars to find out virtually useless ifnormation, but hey I like it. Anyway on top of that I rendered a couple of the scenes I put screenshots of on the 11th. They're pretty big so I'm gunna run 'em through Cleaner before I post them. and in just for shits and giggles here's a screenshot of the display that will be displaying the data in that previous link. I'm going to add some buttons and maybe a keypad and some other stuff so it's kind of just a shiny rectangle but what the heck. Console display monitor. See if I give it an important name it doesn't matter that it's just 10 chromed recangles....right? Anyway, again, moving on as I digress. I also did a quick little number with one of the robots walking through the map room, Dan said he wanted shadows and stuff but it's hard to get really contrasty shadows without a ton of lights and it washes everything out and looks all yucky and they also take like three lifetimes to render raytraced shadows....soooooo I went with the ole you can only see a little bit of em as they walk by. This will probably change cause I just set this up and I don't think they are even walking the right speed (that's why you won't see their feet=) ) But hey it's kind of the direction I'm going. I'm also playing around with sound FX and stuff so I may have a sequence with the robotic arm and for the first time in Relics Of Creation production history WITH SOUND!!!! wow that's sad, it's been like a year and nothing has sound yet. allow me to pause while I chuckle. - 2:45 AM - ok done chuckling. Anyway for now I'm just going to put up screenshots of the camera angles and where the robot is in the frame cause I'm kind of doing six things at once and when I batch render to get video I can't even play solitare without causing all kinds of havoc. So screenshots...here ya go Camera 1, Camera 2, and Camera 3

That's it for now, I'll post the satelite videos as soon as they are done in Cleaner.

08/11/03 - 6:31 PM - Update to the anamatronic arm. Decided to add a scene in which the arm retrieves a probe from space and brings it inside. This should help give time to fill in information in the begining and even out the pacing of the first few minutes. Video is still to come because at the moment it is windows only but I should have OS X compatable video by tomorow. In the meantime there are two initial screen shots. One is from inside the hanger and the other is outside of the arm actually retrieving the probe. Keep in mind they are both not fully textured. Inside Hanger & Outdoor.

08/09/03 - 4:32 AM - Another update this mornin, Decided I'd go ahead and make a big anamatronic arm that the robots would use, in theory, to grab stuff in space or recover probes etc. The lights in the lights in the scene are kinda messed up so the texture that's on there looks kinda funny but you get the idea of what the arm looks like, it's basicly going to run on tracks in the hanger floor which I might do tongiht, otherwise it'll have to wait. So here it is, my own Space Armatron.

08/09/03 - 2:31 AM - Decided that the little map room was a bit too claustraphobic so I made the hanger area that is attatched to it that the robots will be walking through. It has alot of work to go because it is such a massive structure but here is an early render of the ship's hanger.

08/05/03 - 4:50 AM - Once again it's been a really long time sinse the last update been very busy workin on my book and stuff with work and as I always say hopefully I'll get a little momentum and get some work done. I'm working on a little map room for Relics of Creation. This is to fill a little hole Dan and I decided might be in the minds of the audience. Basicly we want to make it perfectly clear how the robots got where they are and why they are there. So here is a very preliminary shot of the map room, the raytracing went all nutty on this render so I'm gunna have to tone that down and retexture the darn thing. Not to mention there are still a few other little things I'm adding but for now this is what it looks like. Map room prototype
