2/24/04 - 5:29 PM - Just for fun I put together another set of video clips to show a bit of progression. This is the biggest block of footage after the space scenes. This follows teh robots intot he city and into the first building. Obviously we don't have sound yet and some things will be added later once we have dialogue but this gives an idea of the order of things. Entering city/Building one. 2/24/04 - 2:57 PM - I put together the four video clips of teh robots first entering the city just to give an idea of what it will look like, obviously this isn't a final version by any means but it will give an impression. I haven't gotten the compression quite right and my iBook is acting up so this is off of windows so I'll run it through cleaner to make a better version but for now here it is and it's pretty big Robots Entering City. 2/23/04 - 11:00 AM - Here's the promised screen shot of the vision on main street. It does not include the robots walking around because as I said there are quite a few of them and the render time would be just too long. This gives you enough of an idea of what's going on anyway. Main Street Vision Test. 2/20/04 - 1:56 AM - We have been having the problem of figuring out how to distinguish the three robots from eachother in the story. Numbers and things like that seemed to blatant so I tried doing simple color variations. This is along the lines of what I'm doing although in an actual scene these color schemes have proved to be to subtle do to the "out door" lighting and reflections and such. So they should look like this in the end. Robot ID color test. 2/19/04 - 3:18 PM - Quick screen shot of the robots meeting in front of the first building before they go into the lobby. This combined with the previous two scenes will preceed them going into the lobby and going down the elevator shaft to the engine room. Basicly this is just for the camera angle. Robots meeting in front of building. 2/19/04 - 12:46 PM - Decided I'd put up a screen shot of the vision portion of this scene just so you know what I'm talking about and what it looks like. The video scene probably will not have the robots in the test render just because it about quadruples the render time to have them all in there, I think there are 20 in all. So here's a quick screen shot of the Vision on main street. 2/19/04 - 12:19 PM - Another short video clip in the city with the robots. Well this clip actually just has one robot in it. Some, meaning Dan, will remember the vision scene in which one of the robots invisions what the city may have been like in its prime. Well I've redone that and this scene shows the present day side...wow that was confusingly worded. In other words this is the robot looking at the destroyed structures before the vision begins, I have the vision rendering but it's about double the length so it won't be done till mon probably. So anyway here's a little screen shot and here's the video file. 2/17/04 - 12:28 PM - Here is a quick video clip of what the scene is probably gunna look like. Again this isn't all the way textured and the robots movements are still in their very generic state I have to go in and clean it up, but it's a general idea. Destroyed city entrance clip. 2/17/04 - 1:29 AM - Ok I'm starting work on animation in the city. This is the robot's first encounter with the inards of the city. Here's a screen shot of the first robot entering the city. Not everything is textured yet but hopefully this initial scene will go pretty quick. Robot entering city 2/2/04 - 12:10 AM - Well I'm finaly back after a bit of a break. Things are moving well on the movie. Haven't had a whole lot of new scenes to put on but we've been working on recording the actors and finalizing the script. So I should be able to resume work on the animation again very soon. Aside from the movie the brewery project is udnerway finaly. So the first brew will be done 13 days from now and eventually our brew will be available to anyone interested. So I've started school again but I'm hoping we can finish this film up and start on some of our other ideas. Ah yes and a much belated happy new year. Contents © 2002 Matthew Hickman |
